Beauty school at RACE: your questions answered
How long does cosmetology school take in Utah?
The Cosmetology program at RACE is 1,250 hours. After an 8-week orientation you choose a weekly pace of 20 to 35 hours (day) or 20 to 30 hours (night), so your finish date depends on the pace you choose.
How much does beauty school cost at RACE?
Total program costs, including tuition and kit or supplies, are $19,998 for Cosmetology, $16,300 for Hair Design, $18,568 for Master Esthetics, $5,845 for Nail Technology and $5,495 for Lash & Brow. A $75 application fee is separate.
Do you offer night classes?
Yes. Night School meets on campus Tuesday through Thursday, 4–8 PM, for Cosmetology, Hair Design, Nail Technology and Lash & Brow.
Is financial aid available?
Federal Student Aid is available for those who qualify in eligible programs. Our Financial Aid team can help you understand your options and next steps.
Can I complete part of my program online?
Yes, where approved. In Cosmetology, up to 440 of the 1,250 hours can be approved distance education, completed through the CIMA learning platform.
