2026–27 student cost information

Cost of Attendance

Estimated school and living costs for each RACE program, published November 2, 2026. These are planning estimates, not individual financial aid awards.

About these cost estimates

This disclosure shows published November 2026 School Catalog charges and estimated living expenses for standard full-program schedules. Cost of Attendance is broader than the amounts billed by RACE. These planning estimates are not a final financial aid award or a promise of funding.

What is Cost of Attendance?

Cost of Attendance (COA) is an estimate of educational and living expenses for an applicable period of enrollment. It is used in financial aid eligibility and award determinations. COA is not the same as the amount RACE bills for tuition, fees, books and supplies, and it is not a promise of financial aid or student refunds. The applicable budget depends on the program, approved enrollment period, attendance schedule, living situation, and federal rules.

Cosmetology, Hair Design and Master Esthetics are RACE’s Title IV-eligible programs, subject to individual student eligibility. Nail Technology and Lash & Brow Technology do not participate in Federal Student Aid. Their published charges are shown for cost transparency, not as federal aid budgets.

The application fee is part of the catalog’s published total; whether a particular fee may be included in a federal financial aid COA is determined under applicable rules. Actual student charges are governed by the approved enrollment agreement and applicable rates.

2. Estimated living and transportation expenses

These amounts are RACE’s estimated monthly living expenses for the two living arrangements shown. They are not school bills, grants, or guaranteed cash payments. The applicable allowance for an individual student depends on enrollment status and other circumstances.

3. Illustrative full-program Cost of Attendance

These standard-schedule full-program planning estimates combine November 2026 catalog tuition, required books/kits, and the separately stated $75 application fee with RACE’s reported monthly living-expense allowances. Standard program months (9 / 7 / 8 / 3 / 3) reflect published full-program schedules, not every student’s individual financial-aid budget period.

How the figures are calculated: catalog school charges + (standard program months × the selected FAME monthly allowance). Example: Cosmetology, living with parents / no dependents = $20,073 + (9 × $2,400) = $41,673; all others = $20,073 + (9 × $4,125) = $57,198.

* Nail Technology and Lash & Brow Technology are not Federal Student Aid programs. Their figures illustrate estimated school and living costs only and are not Title IV COA budgets.

These are full-program planning estimates, not individual Title IV aid budgets or award amounts. The $75 application fee is included for school-charge transparency; its inclusion in an actual federal-aid COA depends on federal rules and the approved budget. Evening, part-time and individual schedules may have different periods. Other eligible costs, such as initial licensing/credential expenses, may also affect individual budgets.

4. Other costs that may be included

Depending on federal rules and individual circumstances, the applicable COA may also include:

  • Required course materials, supplies or equipment beyond those already included in the catalog kit; the same cost must not be counted twice.
  • Costs of obtaining a required initial professional license or credential when the federal criteria apply, including qualifying examinations or application costs.
  • Eligible dependent care and disability-related expenses, where applicable and documented.
  • Applicable federal student loan fees and other categories allowed by federal law. Personal-expense eligibility depends on enrollment status.

5. How an individual COA is determined

The Financial Aid Office establishes the appropriate budget for the period of enrollment and applicable aid program. A student’s COA may differ from these full-program charges or monthly planning allowances. The number of eligible budget months, treatment of charges, attendance intensity, and any allowable individual adjustments must be confirmed before a student’s budget or aid package is determined.

Students may contact the RACE Financial Aid Office at (801) 373-2887 to request an explanation or copy of the COA applicable to their program, enrollment period and circumstances. Financial Aid options where available for those who qualify; eligibility and award amounts are not guaranteed.

6. Student resources

Your individual Cost of Attendance may differ

The RACE Financial Aid Office determines the applicable budget for your program, schedule, living arrangement and aid period. Students may ask for the budget used in their own aid package at (801) 373-2887. The Net Price Calculator is a separate planning resource and does not replace an individual financial aid determination.
